AUGUST 19
Having been invited by the Provincetown Building Commissioner to be a part of the annual
Provincetown Summer Carnival Parade, Laurel enjoyed a ride in a 1976 convertible Cadillac
down the 4 mile length of Commercial Street.   This is an event that celebrates diversity on
every level and in a very colorful way!  It was a blast!
AUGUST 22
One of the wonderful things about living in
Massachusetts is the wonderful art and
culture available here.  At the pinnacle of
the Arts are the world-famous Boston Pops.
They not only play at the beautiful Boston
Symphony Hall in the heart of Boston and
in the outdoor venue of Tanglewood in
western Massachusetts, but they also travel
around the state so that all residents of
Massachusetts can have the opportunity to
see their wonderful performances.  The
highlight of this performance was, as usual,
John Philip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes
Forever"... made extra special by an
introduction of a reading of the Gettysburg
Address by Senator Ted Kennedy.

Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts 2005 was not
the only advocate at Pops by the Sea that
day...Ms. Senior New York, who would later
become Ms. Senior America was also in
attendance.
